The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas is hosting a Day of Action in Colorado County, led by our local members, celebrating the anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965.

> Register to vote, check your voter registration status, or get info on ID cards
> Practice voting on a real voting machine with Rebecka LaCourse, Colorado County's Elections Administrator
> Learn how to use the LWV Voters Guide and VOTE411.org to see what's on your ballot
> Help your kids learn what voting is all about by voting for their favorite Texas animal
> Get some Interesting facts and history on the 1965 Voting Rights Act
This event is part of Unite & Rise for Voting Rights, a nationwide LWV Day of Action honoring the legacy of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the ongoing work to protect the ballot for every American. It's one of four Day of Action events happening across our League area this August 8 — more counties to come.
