In the art world, the name Eric Jacobsen holds a significant place. He is an American Impressionists' Society Signature Member and a member of the Plein Air Painters of America. He holds multiple awards across the nation for his vibrant, expressive paintings and has carved a niche for himself over the past few decades. He will teach a plein air (fresh air) workshop at Live Oak Art Center in Columbus on March 22, 23, and 24, 2024. Eric’s artistic process involves a deep connection with nature. He primarily paints outdoors and prefers painting in serene environments.
Participants will be directed in how to loosen up their style and paint expressive landscapes. This workshop is for students of all levels, beginner through advanced. This workshop is for oil and acrylics. His participants will focus on the fundamentals of good painting as it relates to landscape painting.
Jacobsen will cover the following topics: Composition, Value, Design, Choosing a Motif, Identifying and mixing accurate Warm and Cool Colors, Establishing a Focal Point as well as Tips and Do’s and Don’ts for the Landscape Painter to consider. The workshop will be complete with informal lectures and instructor demos.
