About Us

It’s been a long musical ride for singer/songwriter/musician Darrel Appelt of Columbus, Texas. Over many years he has played at about every kind of Texas venue there is, and has fronted bands that opened shows for major artists such as Gene Watson, Eddy Raven, John Conlee, Ronnie Milsap, Restless Heart, Shenandoah, Kevin Fowler, Roger Craeger, Kyle Park, William Clark Green, and others!

Darrel began his professional music career as a teenage drummer and vocalist, but years later he turned to learning the acoustic guitar and eventually keyboards and organized several successful local/regional groups of his own such as Texas Dance Time Band, Colorado Band, and the most recent Hit Men Band.

Today, Darrel Appelt is embracing a more laid back live music career with more focus on songwriting and solo acoustic performances. His live performances with guitar and keyboards feature his smooth and versatile vocals on a variety of great cover tunes along with many of his originals!

Darrel will be releasing his first all original album this summer (2019). Appelt said smiling in a recent interview, “Ha ha.. I know I’m the older guy now but hey, better late than never!” 12 songs will be on the album appropriately titled “Long Time, Good Time” and will of course be available for downloading on ITunes and Spotify! You’ll also be able to listen on YouTube and good old fashioned CDs will be available for sale at Darrel’s live shows for those who still play discs. The debut album is currently being recorded and produced at Castle Row Studios in Oklahoma City.

Darrel has been married to the love of his life Melanie since 1983. He is the father of two sons Stephen (wife Aerial ) and Kyle (wife Montana). Stephen is a Purple Heart Veteran Marine Sgt. and Kyle is an active duty Officer in the United States Air Force. Darrel is also the proud grandfather (Pops) of Stephen and Aerial’s 3 year old girl Harper and 1 year old boy Cam.
