Great Southern Wood - Columbus, TX located at 1050 Great Southern Way is the manufacturer of YellaWood® brand pressure treated pine. They are so much more than a lumber brand that customers ask for by name. Their company is all about determination, good people, and knowing that being on the cutting edge takes more than just a saw. It wasn't that long ago that owner, president and CEO Jimmy Rane was wrapping up law school when he had the opportunity to take over a floundering treatment plant in his hometown. He’ll be the first to tell you that he didn't know a 2x4 from a 2x6. But what he saw was potential. And his vision and hard work eventually grew a small-town, three-man fence post treating plant into the industry leader. Today there are fourteen full-service treating plants across the mid to eastern United States including the one located in Columbus.
