About Us

The Medallion Foundation, Inc. established Hwy 71 Ranch (''Hub's Place'') as a place where children, particularly those from the city or who otherwise might not have the
opportunity, could enjoy the beauty of nature, recreational activities, and have a chance to see a variety of wildlife. Located on 55 acres of beautiful Texas country, kids can go on a hayride among goats, zebras, longhorns, wildebeest, horses, deer, and even kangaroos. Feeding the goats, miniature horses, donkeys and rabbits allows children an up-close experience with some of the farm animals. Kids can fish by the pond, go to ''the birdhouse'' and see quail, dove, pheasants, chickens and peacocks, and even enjoy an outdoor picnic.

There is also ''the barn,'' an air-conditioned dining and activities room equipped with a kitchen, restrooms, games, and plenty of room to have lunch.

The ranch is enjoyed by children five years of age and older and from all walks of life, including those with disabilities, church groups and school field trips. Even the elderly are welcome to come and take part in what the ranch has to offer.

All visits to the ranch are by appointment only. Groups must provide their own supervision of the group and must execute waivers and releases before utilizing the ranch. Hwy 71 Ranch is located at 2265 Hwy 71, Columbus, TX 78934.
