About Us

Located in the heart of Texas’ south central prairie region, the Pintail Hunting Club offers some of the area’s finest waterfowling. Every Fall the central flyway deposits thousands of migrating ducks and geese onto traditional wintering grounds surrounding our famous Pintail Lodge, and since 1980 Pintail has specialized in providing its hunters with the fullest shotgunning experience. From early September teal season to the last snow goose hunt in February, the action never stops.

The Pintail oversees in excess of 30,000 acres of owned and leased land. These areas include harvested rice stubble, managed waterfowl impoundments, numerous prairie ponds and roosting lakes that consistently harbor tens of thousands of birds. “It’s a thrill of a lifetime to hunt these great concentrations.”

Lance Stancik, owner, says his passion for hunting led him into the hunting business. Like many his father instilled the love and respect for hunting when he was boy. Carrying him along when he was still too young to carry himself. Guiding came later through high school and while attending college at Texas A & M University. Lance found out that he could get paid to hunt and the rest is history.

Working for other outfitters and expanding his learning and understanding the ins and out of providing a quality experience for his clientele, he began to branch out starting his own outfitting service in both Texas and Saskatchewan, Canada. He now applies that to Pintail Hunting Club in Garwood, Texas.

He was very fortunate to be taught a very strong work ethic that has allowed him to succeed. Lance brings that work ethic as well as his passion to Pintail to continue to offer the quality of service the customers have come to expect but also improve on every aspect of the game. His wife, Camille helps him in all aspects of life and plays a huge behind-the-scenes role in their outfitting endeavors. They have three children that keep them very busy but they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sharing his passion for hunting waterfowl and actually teaching his love for the sport of duck hunting, is part of what he looks forward to every day. Pintail Hunting Club has what every bird hunter needs: 30,000 acres to traipse around, an amazing hunting lodge to hang out with other hunters and swamp hunting stories, luxurious accommodations, and amazing food….what more could you ask for?
